magnified moments

This Folklore, Valerie Pensworth

Valerie Pensworth is one of my favorite artists and also one of my dearest friends. She recently moved to Portland, and lucky for us, is now focusing on art full-time.
Personally, her art strikes me both aesthetically and conceptually. Valerie aims to represent the connections between childhood and adulthood, conveying precise moments as magical or awkward, which she finds both "intriguing and delicate."

Her colors are at once muted and vibrant, the humans depicted both distorted and life-like. I am extremely drawn to these successful contradictions, and I proudly display them on my walls!

Here are some of my favorite works...

Reluctant Trade, Valerie Pensworth
(note: I own this and I love it and you can own it too because she made prints!)

Cacao

There are so many great spots to eat and shop in Inman Park, and one of my favorite places to go is Cacao. It is hands- down the best chocolate I have ever had, and the interior space is equally as beautiful.

Cacao is the brainchild of Kristen Hard- a wonderful and talented chocolatier, and my best friend happens to work there also (this fact might present me as partial, but the chocolate really is amazing!).

They make the most amazingly tasty truffles, such as the coconut love, the luxe lime and the honey heaven. You can also have hot chocolate (SO GOOD), cupcakes, chocolate bars, and recently Terrapin produced a chocolate beer with Cacao's very own (the also produce for wholesale). Jaci swears that Kristen makes the best chocolate martini, too.

p.s. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT leave Cacao without a chocolate dipped marshmallow. Trust me.

Hello my name is: Anna

Hi everyone!
I am Anna, Jac''s new employee. While I've only been here three days, we've got some fabulous new items in!

I am loving the new Trovata for men.
My Favorite is this button-up. Not only is it a fantastic mens shirt, but I also want one for myself! I love it over-sized with a pair of leggings or skinny jeans.

Trovata Josef L/S Roll-Up - Dusty Rose

I am very excited about my newest purchase, a headband by r ki tekt. All the ones we have in stock are one of a kind and beautifully detailed with feathers and other embellishments. Personally, headbands usually squeeze behind my ears, giving me a headache, but these are extremely soft and I don't even notice it. The incredibly talented designer is our very own Kelly!
Mine has a Marie Antoinette feel, I love it!
Here it is:

p.s. it is such a beautiful day today!
