Fryed Feet

I know we are in the south but not that kinda of Fried!

Ok brace yourself: AUTUMN IS AROUND THE CORNER!!!

YIPEEEEE (for some), not so blissful for others.
So, to soften the "end-of-summer" blow
(which, might I add was thee shortest summer ever!!!)
try "fancifying" your feet with Frye!!

Brown Simone Cuff boot-
The perfect everyday boot. Not quite cowboy, not quite slouchy 80's bootie.
It's just right. And it's in the perfect worn-out brown color.
(and you didn't even have to beat them against the pavement)
Wear the cuff up or down to show off the stitching detail.

When you're feeling a bit short, these are the shoes to glide on!!
The Darcy Peep-toe in Bordeaux.
A chunky sandal in a rich plum colour.
With a 1/2" platform in the front and 4" at the heel, an added 5 inches
never felt or looked so good.
(And we've got to say thank you Frye for adding a cork and wood foot bed and for the
partial rubber sole.)
Nothing beats a stylishly comfortable shoe.

Don't have a horse under you??
So what, wear the riding boot anyway!!!
Melissa Riding Tall boot is perfect for pulling an outfit together.
It instantly adds a great balance of urban-prep to your ensemble,
without looking like you stepped right out of the stables.
(and thanks again Frye, for saving early morning frustration
by only lacing part of the boot and not the entire leg!!)

Mad Style

I feel like I can speak for a lot of us when I say that the hit show Mad Men is one of the most fascinating on air. In brief, to those who have not watched: the drama series is about ad men on Madison Avenue in the early sixties. I highly suggest you try it for a spin... you might be pleasantly surprised with how captivating the show really is! Right now, it seems to be the most written-about show because of its unnaturally attractive cast, controversial issues of the time, and the style. I except the fact that styles come and go, but I have to say that I am so excited to see people on the streets of Atlanta wear outfits inspired by the 60s. Man... I love watching this show!

Checkout the Rearview

Make them hate to see you go
But LOVE to watch you leave...

While wearing this Parker open back dress,
words aren't necessary.

these pants by Parker have theeee perfect amount of stretch to hug
all the important parts, yet still allow you to be mobile.

this is a new look from NightCap Clothing. We normally carry their loungewear
as opposed to a hottsie-tottsie look.
But this is like two in one...the soooooftest Supima cotton is used to create these
subtly sexy pieces that are also super comfy.

Woodstock

I don't know about you but I am super amped to see Ang Lee's movie on Woodstock, Taking Woodstock, opening tonight in theaters everywhere. I love everything about the seemingly magical three day festival. The music. The clothing. The aura. All of it! I love living vicariously for a couple of hours in any Woodstock documentary and hopefully this new movie as well.

Now for you fans out there with a tot, we have a jolly good offering for you - The Jefferson Airplane onesie by Rowdy Sprout! You know that Woodstock is where the band really shot to fame, right?
Okay, so your kid is more rocker than hippie? Then maybe the
Kiss onesie is right for them. And if Gene Simmons scares them, maybe they like the classics, like the Beatles onesie above?
Or maybe you have a toddler who love the classics? The Rolling Stones Baseball jeresey is perfect and we have it up to size 3T!
And if you have a little hip-hopper on your hands, Run DMC's onesie is going to suit them just fine: Last but not least, if your mini-me would rather make music, we have got a delicious DJ hoody for them (also up to 3T!):
(Beatles onesie, Rolling Stones baseball tee, Run DMC onesie and DJ hoodie only in-store at the moment...stay tuned for when they are added online)

Hood Happenings....

Just had to share - so much going on in Inman Park!
  • Just down the street in the old Grape space, construction going on for the newest location of Pure Taqueria (hollah!)
  • Around the corner on Elizabeth Street the large empty shell of new construction is finally being filled with a deli/market ala Whole Foods/Fresh Market called Savvy Urban Market (double hollah!)
  • Just across the street on Elizabeth next to the fabulous new waxing studio, Wax, there's paper on the windows - more things to come in! We'll do some reconnaissance on that and get back to you.....
  • Just noticed a sign for "Authentique" next to our favorite flower shop, Adaptation...not sure what it is going to be but excited for all these new neighbors!
