Full Disclosure

I am a HUGE Archie comics fan, and I have been since I was about 8 years old. I spent all my allowance at the comic shops (do those even exist these days??), treasured every copy sent to me at camp (thank you Mom) and saved every issue in perfect condition and proudly displayed them on my bookshelf.
But alas, these days my only Archie interaction is a quick reading on the sly at the grocery check-out.
So imagine my indelible surprise to read in this article that our favorite red-headed freckle face is about to propose to one of his long-time lovelies.
Shocking news!!!
Which one will it be?? Well, let's be honest folks, in today's economy the good "guy" always wins. My money's on Betty. I am envisioning her wearing this gorgeous dress by Built by Wendy when he pops the question:
But it's a long time since I've caught up the trials and tribulations on Mr. Andrews. Perhaps these hard economic times have hit our hero as well? If so, marrying the wealthy Veronica would be a quick fix....Though a bit abrasive, she does have some serious fashion sense. I picture her in this number by Laeken:
Who will it be???? The suspense is pretty intense folks. I guess we'll all have to wait till August though. The big event takes place in issue no.600 due out then...

Lovely Surprises.
Last night was full of 'em.
Off we went last night to sample some fab new cocktails at Ecco - an incredible little eatery in Midtown. We were provided with delish meats and cheeses and indulged in a "Meat & Potatoes" Vodka drink complete with Gerkin pickle and Salami for garnish. YUM. That was promptly followed up by a fruity Bourbon number and "Long Live the Queen" - an award winning cocktail using peach bitters and elderflower syrup. Double yum.
It would be wise to say we were feeling pretty good last night.
Who would have thought we could be feeling any better?
Oh, but we did!
We finally got to meet fabulous style icons Lauren & Catherine - the famous AsianCajuns! Despite how cool and sweet we thought they might be, we were doubly impressed in person. It was a pleasure to finally meet them and thank them for all of their support. We also got to meet food blogger Lindsay and her fiánce and discussed all of Atlanta's hidden gems.
Definitely a great night! And cannot wait to go back to Ecco.

Sound Check: May

Busting moves in the shop to:
Coconut Records - Why didn't we know about this band earlier??? Nighttiming is AMAZING.
The Morning Benders - Another goodie. Try A Grain of Salt or Patient Patient.
Bob Dylan - So he just came out with a CD, but our current tune of choice? Nettie Moore - found on his 2006 album, Modern Times.
Get Rockin People!

There are many things I think of myself as, but one thing I never considered was a "Go-Getter Gal." Yes, I have accomplished a few things that I had set out to, but really that was done by just placing one foot in front of the other. More "following a path" than "going and getting." But thanks to Debra Shigley, I have changed my mind!
I met Deb back in February when she kindly asked me to be part of her research for her untitled new book, a follow-up to her book "
The Go-Getter Girl’s Guide: Get What You Want in Work and Life" due out this September. I was flattered and obliged to the interview. Upon our first meeting I was hooked by Miss Shigley. Beyond being delightfully sweet and easy to talk to, Debra is ever so stylish, smart and an accomplished Go-Getter herself!
Now I am an avid reader of her blog - Go-Getter Girls and just the other day, she posted a bit of our interview here. Just a taste, but already I can't wait to read her first inspirational read in September!! You go gal!

Patriotic Happy!

Hello!!!

I'm the new addition! The name is Julia. The game is retail. I am introducing the must haves for a memorable Memorial Day weekend. So sit back, relax, and enjoy...

First and foremost, I hope you have all kicked out that old rule of no whites before Memorial Day. If not, then this is the weekend to start. Here are my favorites from the store:

James Jeans Hector - White Pearl

These James jeans paired with Fremont's patriotic 40's style tank creates an effortless look that you can wear all day!

Fremont Amelia Top

I chose these two pieces because they create a classic all-American look. Not to mention one that you can wear all summer long, as well as mix & match with other items in your closet...

Hope you have a safe and happy Memorial Day!

Julia

The Hills - Part Duex

We can't decide if we love her or hate her, but no matter what, we always seem to watch her! Now LC has moved on to her second role as author with her new book: LA Candy. Though I was sure I would not continue to follow her move, I found myself with eyes glued to this excerpt found in this month's Teen Vogue. Despite the fact that the story isn't new - it features heroine Jane Robert's move to Hollywood and ending up the star of her own reality show (shocker) - I can tell that I will be hooked by Miss Conrad yet again. Oye.

Coocoo for Cocoa

If you've ever visited the brick and mortar location of Jac, you know taht we always have a constant candy supply up on our counter - close to you at check-out and well, close to our seats behind the counter as well. In fact, errrr, maybe a little too close to our chairs! I myself have a chocolate problem - I really can't help myself when it's sitting in front of me...which is why we have changed over to the fabulous Dum Dum lollipops as of late. Tasty, but for me, not a threat.
This takes care of my problem in-store, but what to do when I am out in the big bad world???
Well, here I am minding my own business (literally) on Twitter (do you follow me??) and I see this article by TruNutrition. Thank goodness! Now I can have my chocolate and eat it too!

When Good Jeans Happen To Good People

It's hard for grown up men to find a pair of good, honest jeans.

Jeans that can be worn out.
Jeans that can be worn to work (for those "modern business casual types").
Jeans that aren't studded with some sort've facackta bedazzler pattern.
Jeans that don't feature gaudy ass-pocket stitchings.
Jeans that fit.
Jeans that don't cost more than a suit.

Recently, boss lady brought home a pair of perfect jeans for me- Kasil's new Davidson Straightlegs. They're in a "gunsmoke" wash, which make me look much, much cooler than I really am.
The jeans make me happy. They'll make you happy. Click here to take a good look at them.

And don't forget to tell your favorite fellas that Jac's men's department is chock full of good stuff...
