Step Up and Out

What can I say?! Frye just simply knows how to design fabulous
shoes that will be passed on to your children's children!
I think with the overwhelming assortment of boots and booties
out there for Fall/Winter, we tend to become numb to the style.
But the classic elements Frye includes always brings me back to
my senses.
Using their standard luxe leathers, they created Matilda!
A ankle boot subtly on trend, yet will never be thrown in the
"Why-did-I-follow-That-Trend" bin for donation pick-up
Beautiful black stitching details its curves and folds.
With a nod to the hardware on software trend, buckles act as faux closures
to these easy slip-ons.
Add a platform to the toe to balance out the height of the heel and
these are ready for strutting.

Comfy on the Toesies...

I love my heels and boots, but whenever I see a new pair of Toms roll into the shop I feel a flutter in my stomach. Of course we love that with every pair purchased, TOMS gives a pair of new shoes to a child in need. But we super duper love the feel, look and touch of them. Especially this new pair: Poe. Soft yet sturdy flannel with a brown/white/orange color combo that make them just the perfect thing to get me around this Fall. My tootsies are already loving!

I am Barefoot, for One Day Without Shoes

We love Toms here at Jac! We have a secret stash behind the counter where we change into them about 3 hours after we open and are tired of the heels.
Other times, we plan whole outfits around them!
But not only do they feel GREAT, but the company does great things as well:
For those of you who don't know, for every pair you purchase, Toms gives one pair to a child in need. To date, they have given away over 140,000 pairs and intend on giving 300,000 more in 2009 alone.
Toms has declared today a "One Day Without Shoes" Day to bring awareness to their cause. Here are some facts about how the shoes make a difference:

• Fact #1: In some developing nations, children must walk for miles to food, clean water and to seek medical help.
• Fact #2: Cuts and sores on feet can lead to serious infection.
• Fact #3: Often, children cannot attend school barefoot.
• Fact #4: In Ethiopia, approximately one million people are suffering from Podoconiosis, a debilitating and disfiguring disease caused by walking barefoot in volcanic soil.
• Fact #5: Podoconiosis is 100% preventable by wearing shoes.

Ok guys we have some new and exciting things in the store I'd like to highlight!

First things first. The other day my co-worker and I were unpacking some new things we got in, when I came across one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. It was an activity book call Color Me Fierce! The book puts a spin on the fashion world with satirical stories that are to be completed by the reader. Color Me Fierce summons the reader to cut and paste Nora's new face post- plastic surgery, word search in Kat's designer bag and camouflage Samantha's shamefully hairy legs. The book comes with crayons in six of this seasons hottest colors . Sure to be a hit with any of your fashion forward friends or anyone with a sense of humor( don't take yourself to seriously when flipping threw). LoVe It!


Secondly can we say shoes, shoes, shoes (in my excited voice) by Frye! Yesterday we received three huge boxes and I'm saying to my self, "self what the... is that in those big boxes." I'm thinking the UPS guy is really off his rocker today. To my surprise and my apologies to Mr. UPS, I open the boxes and lo and behold all kinds of shoes. Contemporary western slouch boots, fashionable and functional peep toes, riding boots and the sexiest shoe(great for the leg) since YSL's jeweled lace up sandal. September has arrived and Fall is making a statement this year!

Do you know what I love about today? The weather is gorgeous and the smell of Fall is in the air. What I love about Fall and being just a few weeks away is the yummy boots and cashmere tops that get to come out of my wardrobe and be rediscovered. Speaking of, we got in our newest footwear collection in this week. F-Troupe is a London based shoe brand that has been designing quintessential British footwear since 2003. We have some super sexy, strappy heels that have a purple-black patten 40's feel. As well as 3 different boot styles that will fit your every boot wearing need.

Also, for the men: we received the coolest bags in this week. Billy Kirk has been designing hip accessories for men for over 9 years. His bag collection incorporates materials such as leather and canvas while maintaining a basic, antique quality.

Tum, ta, tum, tum, TOMS!

YAY. The Toms shoes are in for both women AND men! Caramel and eggplant cordory for women and navy cordoroy for men. Um, did we mention they feel like walking on air?? And another bonus, besides being super cute and comfy, everytime you purchase a pair, Toms will give a pair to a child in need. In 2008 alone, Toms plans to give 200,000 pairs away. Wow. Shoes that not only feel great but do great things too. Oh yeah, they don't break the bank either. $48 a pair.
