Run Your Lil' Buns!!

Get your booties in serious shape tomorrow at the Santa Speedo Run.

Sure, it's so cold your tootsies might freeze, but think of it this way, you'll probably go numb by the sixth minute and you won't feel a thing! Plus, it's for a good cause: all proceeds go to
CHRIS Kids, Inc.

Once you complete your race, run on over here to Jac and find a cozy outfit to cover your up neked body, and of course, work on your holiday shopping!

I am Barefoot, for One Day Without Shoes

We love Toms here at Jac! We have a secret stash behind the counter where we change into them about 3 hours after we open and are tired of the heels.
Other times, we plan whole outfits around them!
But not only do they feel GREAT, but the company does great things as well:
For those of you who don't know, for every pair you purchase, Toms gives one pair to a child in need. To date, they have given away over 140,000 pairs and intend on giving 300,000 more in 2009 alone.
Toms has declared today a "One Day Without Shoes" Day to bring awareness to their cause. Here are some facts about how the shoes make a difference:
  • Fact #1: In some developing nations, children must walk for miles to food, clean water and to seek medical help.
  • Fact #2: Cuts and sores on feet can lead to serious infection.
  • Fact #3: Often, children cannot attend school barefoot.
  • Fact #4: In Ethiopia, approximately one million people are suffering from Podoconiosis, a debilitating and disfiguring disease caused by walking barefoot in volcanic soil.
  • Fact #5: Podoconiosis is 100% preventable by wearing shoes.
If you would like to purchase a pair of Toms, go here.

Give to a worthy cause and SAVE!

I've found that I'm generally more happy when I'm being productive and doing something positive. My life has more meaning when I feel I've done something that will make a difference in someone else's life (for the better of course). Whether you donate items, volunteer your time, or give money there are so many ways to get involved with worthy causes.

Here at Jac we're supporting the non-profit orgnization Camp Twin Lakes. Camp Twin Lakes offers recreational, therapeutic and educational programs year round to children with serious illnesses and life challenges.

You ask " how can I help?" And the answer is come into Jac and purchase a Partners Card for $60.00 by Nov. 9, 2008. One hundred percent of the proceeds from your purchase of a Partners Card goes to Camp Twin Lakes. The card allows you to save 20% at over 500 shops and restaurants, including, of course, JAC! Click on the link above to see all the participating stores.
